07:46 pm: I got my internship!!!! 3 months in Paris. I had pretty much given up hope of ever spending any extended period of time in France again, so I'm super psyched that that is not the case. I start may 20th and end august 20th...right before law school starts. This of course means that I'll have to get hopping on the whole appartment search thing before I leave. I told my boss today that I'd be leaving, and he was super bummed. I totally understand. Anyway, as I said before, I totally expect everyone and their mom to visit me, and will be super offended if you don't :-). Oh, and I was just kidding about the spooning thing in the last post. Unless.... ;-). Did I mention that I get a free apartment, with TV, a free cell phone, free metro pass, AND a salary. AND I only have to work Mondays, Tuesdays, and half of Wednesdays, excepting weekend excursions, weeks during which my regularly scheduled work hours will be reduced. It really rocks my world, and I'm super excited to start. Please schedule your visits anytime except the weekend of July 16-17...I have unofficially reserved that for Ida's and my trip to Am-dam. Long Bastille day weekend and all!

07:57 pm: Here's Hoping!
I'm currently writing a cover letter and a resume (can you believe I've never had to write one before?) with the hopes that it will secure my a position as summer intern for the study abroad program that I attended in Paris. I'm not going to get my hopes up or anything, because I understand there will, of course, be other applicants...but how could they reject me? I eat, sleep and breathe French. So obviously, getting this gig would totally rock--for a number of reasons:

1.)Paris, duh.
2.)free housing, in PARIS
3.)this is probably the last opportunity I'll get to spend a large chunk of time in a foreign country, and I would love to seize it.
4.)One of my favorite people, but unfortunately one of the ones I get to see the least, resides in good ol' Par-ee. Her name is Ida Driscoll, and we are totally ames-soeurs. I spent every waking moment with her while I was studying in Paris in 2002, and I'm totally craving more quality time :-) I love her like whoa, and she knows it! Plus, she's way good at French, I mean WAY good, so she'll be there to make sure I don't slip up.

So, everyone cross your fingers for me, and then visit me if and when I get it! (You can sleep in my bed if you wanna spoon, otherwise I'm sure I'll have a nice couch or floor for you. hahahaha. ha.)

12:30 pm: no tuna salad for you
So I came home early for lunch today because I was majorly starving. I had called earlier from work to tell my mom that I would be home at noon, and I planned on having a tuna salad sandwich, which I was totally craving. There was some tuna salad in the fridge from a lunch earlier this week, and I asked if it was still there. It was, and there was apparently just enough left for a sandwich, and no more tuna in the house other than that. So I asked my mom to make sure no one ate it in the interim. She said, "Sure, no problem." So I pull in the driveway at noon o' five-ish, come upstairs, and my dad looks at me and says, "your sister was home, I think she ate your tuna....the chicken I'm making won't be ready for an hour." SERIOUSLY MY SISTER HAS NOT BEEN HOME IN A WEEK AND A HALF!!!! She blows in like a whirlwind, is seriously only here for like 5 minutes, but manages to eat the one thing I wanted for lunch. What a ho. (PS the reason she hasn't been home in so long is because her boyfriend and she have been staying in a hotel, he lives in allentown, but he drives people's cars places and stays in hotels until he has something to drive back. Oh, and they also took some ramen).

10:36 pm: Old People Suck
So we got some snow today. I'm not sure how much, I haven't looked out the window since I got home from work...at 6:15 pm...regular time. I think it was supposed to be 6-10 inches. Meanwhile, classes in every high school in the county had been either cancelled or dismissed early (by noon). There wasn't even any snow on the roads yet!!! I figured that it must be because they're kids, and we all worry about the safety of our children. But more than our own? It's always less upsetting when an old person dies because either a)they died of old age...perfectly natural...or b)you know the car accident was their fault!!! But have I already reached an age where that slow descent into bad driving and blue hair overtakes recklessness and soul patches? Has my life already been devalued to "considerably less valuable than a high school student's?" That is so upsetting. I'm going to go slather on some royal jelly (I just saw an infomercial for it) and fight some wrinkles.

02:17 am: So I was gonna just post some pictures tonight and go to bed, but I took a nap today, so I'm not sleepy yet. Adina already talked about Meliss's birthday bash in Philly, but she left out some key details that I'll mention. She did mention Bleu Martini in all it's crystal meth-induced glory, but she forgot to mention the chick that was having her own personal dance party behind our table the whole time. Cigarette in one hand, martini in the other, very Betty Davis-esque, very classy broad. This was the kind of place where you can buy an entire bottle of booze (my kind of place)....for 120 dollars (not my kind of price). I guess I've got champagne taste with a beer wallet. Seriously though, 120 dollars for a bottle of Bombay Sapphire (shoutout to Johnny Hop). That costs what, 39.99 in stores? (you know it was the 750 mL size). So we left that place for a cheaper bar, but ended up in some bar that Adina refer's to as Singapore something, but that I could have sworn was called Jack's something or another. Singapore Jack's? Anyway, a round of red death and a vodka tonic (shoutout to Felecia) cost 47 dollars....not much better, so we left that place after Adina chugged her Heineken, and went to Foggy, which used to be a Coyote Ugly (it was much better when there were chicks standing on the bar pouring shots in your mouth). Nevertheless, we made it our own (not hard since we were literally the only people on the dance floor. I don't remember flinging Adina across the floor, but I certainly believe it. Adina left sometime during Foggy, and then the rest of us went to Cuba Libre for some drunken Salsa dancing. That was a good time, but somewhere in transit I managed to lose my scarf, and Ben managed to lose his cell phone. I later found my scarf, and someone else found Ben's phone, and then stole it. Ben knows this because he checked his voicemail, and he had messages from the people this person used his phone to call. Ahahahaha. No worries, though, cause Ben has insurance. It's just a pain in the ass to put all the numbers back in the new phone. We spent the night at Meliss's and went to our favorite morning-after haunt, Jones for brunch. This place is seriously awesome, if you're ever in Philly, go there. And order the monkey bread, and share pancakes (they're huge). After brunch we retraced our steps from 2nd to 8th streets looking for Ben's phone, then gave up and went home, where I took a nap. I don't like indenting.

01:37 am: Pictures? I hope
Ok, so I made a photo website, and I'm gonna TRY to link to it. This may or may not work...

MY HOT PHOTOS!

If you click that, maybe you'll get some pictures, maybe not.

06:45 pm: OWWWW
I was gonna post a picture of my Biore strip (post-use) but that would have been disgusting, plus I don't know how to.

06:38 pm: mmmm....nosehairs
So I'm waiting for my Biore pore strip thing to dry, but the mirror was foggy when I put it on, plus I was in a hurry, so it's crooked, and partially obscuring my right nostril. Everytime I breath in the flap gets sucked up against my nose. I'm totally going to be losing some nosehairs before this is over and done with.

06:39 pm: stromboli rules
So I was looking through some paperwork that my mom had stored away from my high school years...and I came across this "fitness gram," which assessed your physical fitness. Figures included flexibility, ability to use oxygen, upper body strength (my one area that needed improvement....go figure, pencil arms can't lift heavy things), height, weight, body fat. This particular fitness gram was based on test results from 11th grade, but also included the results from 10th grade. In one year my weight went from 192 lbs. to 154 lbs. (and grew an inch), and my body fat from 24.5% to 12.8%. How you ask? Tennis...it's the miracle diet...err..exercise. I also cut down on the eating, but I still had one of those personal strombolis for dinner almost everynight (you have to make sure not to deprive yourself if you wanna stick to it). This was also the time that I started getting blinding, migraine headaches. So fat and the ability to see? or skinny and blind? That reminds me of that Gilda Radner skit where she's this 60's lounge singer, and she's lamenting the FDA's banning of saccharin, and she says something like, "Studies show that men prefer skinny women with cancer to fat, healthy ones." So true, Gilda.
Anyway, I'm no longer 154 lbs., but I'm also not 192. For some reason though, I'm starting to get migraines again...bad...and a lot. I had two sick days this last pay period because of them. The problem is that they can be caused by so many different things, it's hard to figure out why you're getting them. Personally, I think it's either a brain tumor, or all the pressure brought on by the law school admission process. I started getting them after I took the LSAT, when I had to start applying to schools. I scarcely had any headaches in college, so I'm not sure what else it could be...timing's right. Oh, and I think the brain tumor thing is unlikely, because I think migraines resulting from such are usually confined to one side of the head, whereas my last headache affected my right eye's vision, and the one before that, the left. Yay for no cancer.
Sue at work was telling me that Sharon used to get them, and once she cut cheese out of her diet she was ok...I'm pretty sure I would rather it actually be cancer than have to stop eating cheese...hello, stromboli? Not to mention pizza.
Oh, big shout out to Meliss...even though she never reads this...cause yesterday was her b-day!!!!! She's FINALLY 21, and now we can take her out with us on Super Awesome Thursdays and get her wasted so she can make out with lots of boys (hope Jere's not reading this) :-D

10:29 pm: Genie in a String Bikini
Yesterday was super awesome Thursday, and today is super softcore porn Friday, but I'll get to that later...just a little incentive to keep you all reading. Yesterday Laura, Ben and I went to the California Bar & Grill, but there was some guy there playing the guitar and singing Jimmy Buffett songs, so we had to leave immediately. We then went to Lars' favorite bar, Trooper thorns, where Ben broke his long-standing "no shots" rule with two Red Deaths and one Alabama Slammer. It was good times...we then totally drunk drove to the Third and Spruce where he set a full glass of beer down on the bar and totally 8-90'd it. Glass everywhere. Beer everywhere. He should do shots more often.
Good times yesterday, but I was mad tired at work today. I was going to go to bed afterward, but Meliss is in town for the weekend, so we all went to the Olive Garden for dinner. Our waiter comes over and says "Hi, my name's Aaron, I'm hear for whatever you need, just give a call." He then asks for our drink order, comes back, gives us our drinks and says, "Hi, just wanted to let you know my name's Aaron, I'm hear for whatever you need, just give a call." Alzheimers? he was pretty young....Drew Barrymore-esque short-term memory loss? It was apparently one of them, since he brought us our salad and breadsticks, completely forgot about the appetizer, and brought out our dinner. Well, everyone's dinner except mine...I got something completely different from what I had ordered. We got the appetizer for free though, so I didn't say anything and ate it anyway. After the meal he brought us some Andes mints, and Meader made a comment about how much he loved them, and then Aaron comes back a few minutes later with more Andes mints...I wonder if that was because of Meader's comment, or because he forgot he had already been there, done that.
Everyone was mad stuffed and tired after dinner, so we got back to my house with the intention of watching an on-demand movie. We perused the free movies at first, but then realized that we had HBO and Cinemax subscriptions. HBO was ehh...but Max, specifically Max after Dark, was where it's at. We chose a real gem...Genie in a String Bikini. Here's a brief plot summary:
Set in the far-off land of Moronico...seriously, Moronico. Two Genies are caught mackin' it, which is apparently forbidden, so they are punished by being imprisoned in their bottles. 2000 years later, Moronico is now a tourist trap, and some general finds the bottle, and then you have a total rip-off of I Dream of Genie, but with lots of boobs. Oh, and offers to "make your wang a foot long." It's really a fine film.
